Language is Social:
In a standard class for "English as a Second Language" (ESL), students practice English with classmates they have not met.
With Organic English, students study and practice English with their neighbors, friends, family, team mates, and co-workers. Learning groups are social. These are people we talk to every day. As we learn English, we share these skills naturally or "organically."
Practice becomes automatic as we speak English to the people who matter most to us.

How Does Organic English work?
Actual coursework is presented ONLINE. Videos are provided from some top
names in online ESL. The course is
managed by a facilitator, who is an English-learner elected from the group.
As with standard ESL practice, Organic English's instructional videos are
in English. Enrichment materials will be available in English and
several native languages for practice at home.
Organic English is intended to teach English to people who speak any language.
There are enrichment activities like songs, dramas, comedies, puzzles,
creative writing, and videos to practice English.
Once Organic English reaches maturity, large gatherings (meetups) will be
scheduled so groups can demonstrate their own progress
and learn from other groups.
Organic English is a type of massive open online courses (MOOC) for ESL.
A MOOC is a new way that the Internet can be used as a teaching tool.
Organic English uses this technology and takes it a step further.
Facilitators and students are taught technology so they can access online courses
and MOOCs effectively. Learners and their groups are taught to become self-educators,
because education is active, not passive.
